ANNE CLAIRE DE BREIJ / Naarden 1984
Anne Claire de Breij is a photographer generally known to be an alluring perfectionist. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague, her work is always highly stylistic, static whilst full of life and incredibly recognizable. With her trademark use of colour and a highly graphic character, Anne Claire’s clear-cut images play with the boundaries between reality and fiction. Renowned for pushing the perimeters of aesthetics, she is considered a pioneer in her field and is one of the most sought-after photographers in the area.
Lending her visual style to a range of brands and initiatives, Anne Claire has been fully devoted to the craft for over a decade. Driven by aesthetics, she’s passionate about creating images that are pleasing to the eye whilst still being surprisingly layered. In 2013 she published her first photo book Dutch Champions. Her work has been exhibited in Photography Museum Huis Marseille Amsterdam, FOAM and EYE, amongst others, and is frequently seen in Volkskrant Magazine.
